Hey, I'm Amy

I'm the baker behind Cakey Bakery Co., a mom of two girls, and someone who didn't make her first cake from scratch until she was 38.
 

Turns out, I found something I love doing. Baking is one of the few places where my need for things to be just right actually comes in handy. Measuring every ingredient, weighing cake batter so every layer is perfectly even, and getting that final coat of buttercream just right... it's weirdly satisfying. 
 

Fun fact: The Cakey Bakery Co. name wasn't my idea. My oldest daughter came up with the name when she was five years old. I'll be honest... I tried to come up with something "better." I couldn't. She absolutely nailed it.
 

My favorite part isn't just creating desserts that look beautiful, it's making desserts people can't stop thinking about. The kind your family requests again and again. The kind that makes you take one bite and think, damn... that's good.
